In this season of my life, I often think about the bigger picture; why did God have me quit teaching to be home? What will the ripple effect of this decision be? What is my purpose? What will Luci's childhood be like now? What will her future hold because of this decision? It has led me into digging into the women of the Bible and their purposes. Even though there aren’t as many of them as the men, their stories are packed with complexity and depth. Each one has a unique story that highlights their strong faith, loyalty, and the amazing promises God made to them.

Take Sarah, for example. She laughed when she heard she’d have a baby at her age, but her faith shone through when she gave birth to Isaac, the promised child. Then there’s Ruth, who showed incredible loyalty by sticking with her mother-in-law Naomi. Her commitment not only reflects her faith but also connects her to the lineage of David and Jesus.

The challenges these women faced in their cultural and societal contexts make their bravery and trust in God stand out even more. Esther is a perfect example; she risked her life to save her people, showing just how strong and determined she was. And let’s not forget Deborah, a prophetess and judge who led Israel into battle, proving how vital women were in both the spiritual and political scenes of their time.

I hope the stories of these women don’t just inspire us—they push us to think about our own faith journeys. Each woman’s experience showcases the diverse ways God loves and promises to everyone, no matter the gender or age. The lessons we can learn from their lives are timeless, offering wisdom that still rings true today. By diving into these stories, I hope that we can really appreciate the significant roles these women played in shaping biblical history and the lasting impact they have on our roles as women and mothers.

I hope you stay and dig in with me as we learn about these miraculous women and their stories!
